Carlos Santana to Hit Chastain Park in Atlanta on July 29

Guitar great Carlos Santana will be embarking on a month-long road show to support his current album releases, “All That I Am” (2005, studio album) and “Supernatural: Legacy Edition” (2008, compilation).

Joining him is the Carlos Santana Band and Steve Winwood, who will perform as the opening act.

Included in the month-long North American trek is a stop in Atlanta on Thursday, July 29 at the Chastain Park Amphitheatre at 7:30 PM. Tickets go on sale to the public on June 19, Saturday at 10 AM EDT via Live Nation. The earliest presale tickets are available through Santana’s fan club on June 14, Monday at 10 AM. Citi cardholders can also avail of presale tickets on June 16, Wednesday at 10 AM. Live Nation and Radio are also offering presale tickets on June 18, Friday at 10 AM. Ticket prices are from $49 to $650.

Santana is currently finishing off a series of shows at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas entitled “Santana: A Trip through the Hits”. He had just signed a multi-year contract with AEG Live event promotions to perform an average of 36 shows a year in Sin City.

Alice in Chains’ “BlackDiamondSkye” Tour Comes to Atlanta September 28

Fresh from a highly successful winter-spring tour which wrapped up in March, rock legends Alice in Chains is now prepping to tear up the road with a spring-summer tour which gets underway on April 15 in Portland, ME.

The band is set to back up their comeback record “Black Gives Way to Blue” which hit retailers in September last year. Included in their summer itinerary is a show in Atlanta on September 28, Tuesday at Aaron’s Amphitheatre at Lakewood at 7 PM. Rock acts Mastodon and the Deftones will also be playing as support acts for the event.

Tickets will be available to the public on May 22, Saturday at 10 AM EDT through Live Nation. Citi cardholders can avail of advance tickets through the Citi presale event on May 19, Wednesday at 10 AM EDT. Non-Citi cardholders and other fans can get their advance tickets through the Live Nation and radio presale event on May 20, Thursday at 10 AM EDT. Ticket prices are from $26 to $81.

“Black” is AIC’s fourth studio set and landed at the fifth spot of the Billboard 200 upon its release. The album will also be the first time for AIC fans to hear the voice of William DuVall who replaced Layne Staley as the band’s lead vocalist. Staley passed away due to a drug overdose in 2002.

The tour is aimed at supporting AIC’s late 2009 release “Black Gives Way to Blue”, which landed at the fifth spot of the Billboard 200. The album also features tracks that were produced by Elton John nonetheless, and also the vocal stylings of William DuVall, as he fills in for deceased AIC vocalist, Layne Staley.

Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato team up for “Camp Rock 2″ world tour

Disney homegrown talents Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato are teaming up for a world tour that will span North and South America and Europe to perform tracks from their upcoming Disney movie “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” .

The tour will have all four artists tackle North American cities first with a show in Dallas, TX on July 27 to kick things off. Venues for most North American and international city stops will be filled up later and will be posted over the Jonas Brothers’ website.

Fans of the Jo Bros and Lovato can catch them as they perform live at Aaron’s Amphitheatre at Lakewood in Atlanta on October 14, Thursday at 7 PM. Tickets can be bought via Live Nation when it goes on sale on May 22, Saturday at 10 AM EDT. Earliest access to advance tickets will be provided by the fan club presale on May 18, Tuesday at 5 PM EDT. Presale VIP packages will also be available on the same date and time. Citi cardholders can also avail of presale tickets on May 19, Wednesday at 10 AM EDT.

Tickets cost $37.50 for general admission and $97.50 for reserved seats. The show will push through rain or shine.

“Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” will premiere over the Disney Channel on September 3 while the “Camp Rock 2” OST will hit retailers on July 27.

Zooey Deschanel’s She & Him Hit the Atlanta Botanical July 9

Indie duo She & Him, composed of singer and songwriter M. Ward and actress Zooey Deschanel, will be hitting the road this spring till summer to support their forthcoming release “Volume Two”, which will hit shelves on March 23.

The trek will open in Austin, TX on March 18 and will have the duo swinging by mostly the west coast with a few Midwest and east coast stops, including a stopover in Atlanta in July,

Catch the duo when they hit the Atlanta Botanical Garden on July 9, Friday at 8 PM. Tickets will go on sale to the public through Ticketmaster on May 31, Monday at 10 AM EDT. Advance tickets will be available through the member presale happening on May 17, Monday at 9 AM EDT and through the Ticketmaster presale on May 28, Friday at 9 AM EDT.

Tickets are sold for $32.50. Children are allowed and are free of charge as long as they are aged 2 years and under, and are accompanied by an adult.

“Volume Two” is She & Him’s follow-up to their 2008 release, aptly titled “Volume One”. In an interview, Deschanel described the second record as “more ambitious”, while Ward describes the new album’s creative process as “exactly the same, Zooey writes, I (Ward) produce”.

Yo Gabba Gabba Entertain the Fox Theatre October 23-24

Fresh from their successful White House performance and an appearance at the Coachella Valley Music Festival which garnered the gang nothing but praises, The Gabba Gang from the Nick Jr. show “Yo Gabba Gabba!” will be stopping by 60 North American cities for the “Yo Gabba Gabba Live!: There’s a Party in My City” tour.

The Gabba Gang will be bringing in their innovative and colorful animation skits and production numbers that both kids and adults have come to love in their shows. See them perform at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta on the weekend of October 23 and 24, with two show times for each day, one at 2 PM and a repeat at 5 PM.

Tickets for these shows will be available to the public on June 18, Friday at 10 AM EDT via Ticketmaster. Ticket packages (Gabba Party Package) will be exclusively available in advance to AMEX cardholders beginning on May 20, Thursday at 10 AM EDT and to the general public on May 26, Wednesday at 10 AM EDT. The party package includes a meet-and-greet with the Gabba cast plus a premium ticket.

Tickets are priced at $38.85, $48.85 and $66.25. For every ticket sold, the producers of the event will be giving a dollar to the local chapter of Habitat of Humanity in Atlanta to aid in the city’s efforts to build more homes for the homeless.

American Idol Top Ten Rock Gwinnett Arena in August 1

With only a couple of weeks before a new “Idol” is crowned, the show is now gearing up for the forthcoming “American Idol Live!” tour where all ten finalists of the current season perform from city to city all across the US and Canada, in front of their most faithful fans.

The tour will set off with a show in Detroit on July 1 and will close on September 14 with a show in Pittsburgh. In the midst of all the dates, the former “Idol” hopefuls and the new “Idol” will be stopping by The Arena at Gwinnett Center in Atlanta, GA on August 1, Sunday at 7:30 PM.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on May 15, Saturday at 10 AM EDT through Ticketmaster. Presale tickets will be made available by the American Idol Music website, Live Nation, radio and local presale events on May 14, Friday at 10 AM EDT.

Tickets are priced at $40.50 for the club and mezzanine levels, $50.50 for the lower concourse level and $70.50 for the floor seats.

As of this week, the competition is down to its final three “Idol” hopefuls – Casey James, Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze. Watch out for the show’s season finale next week.

The Black Crowes to Perform for Two Nights in Atlanta

Rock legends The Black Crowes will be going on an extensive US tour entitled “Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys”, entailing more than 50 cities and spanning the entire second half of 2010, before the guys bid “adieu”, indefinitely.

The band will be performing in Atlanta for two nights, capping off the November leg of the said tour before hitting the road again on December 3, heading over to Portland.

Catch the guys perform their greatest hits at The Tabernacle on November 19 to 20, Friday and Saturday, at 8 PM. Tickets are priced at $52.50 and will go on sale on May 14, Friday at 10 AM EDT through Ticketmaster. Unfortunately, there are no presale tickets available for this event. VIP packages are available though.

The band is also set to release their double disc anthology “Croweology”, this summer which features hits encompassing their entire career, 20 years since they came out in the music scene. And as a special treat to their fans, each copy of the album will be sold for the price of one.

Lady Gaga’s “Monster Ball” Returns to Atlanta April 18

Still riding on the success of her second studio release “The Fame Monster”, the outrageous and flamboyant Lady Gaga will be stepping foot in Atlanta’s The Arena this spring.

See her perform live along with her outrageous and loud production numbers for “The Monster Ball Tour starring Lady Gaga” at The Arena at Gwinnett Center on Monday, April 18 at 8 PM.

Tickets go on sale on May 14, Friday at 10 AM EDT through Ticketmaster. Citi cardholders can snag themselves advanced tickets beginning on May 11, Tuesday at 10 AM EDT. VIP Packages are also on sale during the said presale event. The Gwinnett Center will also be holding a presale event on May 13, Thursday at 10 AM EDT.

Tickets are priced at $49.50 for the club and mezzanine levels, $85 for the general admission floor level and $49.50 to $175 for the lower or concourse level.

“The Monster Ball Tour” will be “more of a musical and less of a concert”, said Gaga in a recent interview with Ryan Seacrest. It depicts the story of Gaga and her friends getting lost while on their way to attend a Monster Ball in New York.

“The Fame Monster”, the artist’s massively successful second album, features the tracks “Telephone” which she collaborated with Beyonce, “Bad Romance” and her current single, “Alejandro”.

Roger Waters Unveils ‘The Wall’ at Philips November 18

Pink Floyd fans across the country all spontaneously burst out in celebration that Roger Waters is heading out on tour to resurrect “The Wall” on the 30th anniversary of its release. He’ll be playing the classic album cover-to-cover when he hits 33-cities across North America this fall. Atlanta will get its chance to see Roger Waters when he comes to Philips Arena on Thursday, November 18 at 8pm. For a complete look at the 33 cities he’ll be visiting on his upcoming tour, checkout Roger Waters Tour. “The Wall” was originally released by Pink Floyd in 1979, and has only been played in its entirety a handful of times since the band’s original tour in 1980.

Tickets for the Philips Arena show go onsale to the general public on Monday, May 10 at 10am. There are several presale opportunities including an Amex cardholders presale on Monday, May 3 at 10am, an iTunes presale on Thursday, May 6 at 10am as well as a bundle of presales (LiveNation/radio/venue/AOL) taking place on Friday, May 7 at 10am. Ticket prices range from $203 to $59. There will be no opening musical act as Waters will start his set promptly at 8.

Carrie Underwood to “Play On” in Atlanta October 27

Country superstar Carrie Underwood has just announced that her current tour to promote her third studio album “Play On” will be extended until the end of the year.

With that being said, expect the former “Idol” winner to perform at Duluth’s The Arena at the Gwinnett Center on Wednesday, October 27 at 7:30 PM. Tickets for the show go on sale to the public on April 24, Saturday at 10 AM via Ticketmaster. Presale tickets can be accessed through the artist’s fan club presale starting on April 21, Wednesday at 10 AM. You can also get more presale tickets via the internet presale on April 23, Friday, at 10 AM.

Ticket prices are $35.50, $45.50 and $55.50.

“Play On” is Underwood’s follow-up to her highly successful sophomore studio album “Carnival Ride” which surfaced in 2007. Both albums debuted at the top spot of Billboard’s Hot 200 Albums chart upon its release.

Underwood has also proven to be a sold-out performer when her “Carnival Ride” album tour in 2008, which included 137 shows all across North America, was attended by more than 1.2 million concert goers.
